Academic Advising provides a wealth of information such as: the semester’s academic calendar, GPA calculation directions, four-year plans for all majors, and placement test information.
Bate Center, First Year Writing Studio supports students enrolled in English 1100 and 1200 through individual tutoring sessions with graduate students in English.
Campus Living is made up of the four key areas—Residence Life, Housing Operations, Dining Services, and ECU Student Transit.
Career Center supports and empowers students in their career development to succeed as professionals in a global community. provides career counseling services, such as resume and interview skills sessions, for all ECU students.
Cashier Office serves as the central collection center for student accounts receivable and for receipting of State funds through departmental deposit.
Center for Counseling and Student Development provides programs and services that are designed to contribute to the personal and academic development of all ECU students.
Center for Student Leadership and Engagement (CSLE) is responsible for creating and implementing programs that aid in ECU’s Leadership University Initiative. CSLE is dedicated to building intentional opportunities for students to create positive sustainable change through programs such as Elite Pirates, The Walter & Marie Williams Leadership Scholarship, Emerging Leaders and Parents Council Student Leadership Scholarship.
Dean of Students Office is the central campus resource for addressing student complaints and inquiries. All issues and concerns need to be filed through this office. The Dean of Students is the official ECU office to contact for discrimination complaints against students. Staff members are available to discuss general and specific questions and concerns about university life, transitional issues, policies, procedures and University services. This includes support with academic, personal, or social issues and concerns, assistance in adjusting to university life, and support in the event of a personal, medical or family emergency.
Dining Services provides information about meal plans, dining locations on campus, what they serve, and the hours of operation.
Disability Support Services is responsible for ensuring that individuals with disabilities have access to reasonable accommodations and services.
Financial Aid Office provides education, guidance, and support to individuals and families in the financial aid process. Federal, State, and Institutional aid programs are administered to students at East Carolina University, the Brody School of Medicine, and the School of Dental Medicine.
Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered Student Union (GLBTSU) is a student organization founded in 1994 to promote the awareness, diversity, and acceptance of the GLBT community to ECU students, faculty, and staff.
Major Advisement Program (MAP) is designed to help ECU freshmen who are undecided about their college major. ECU advisors created MAP to assist students in making this important decision through individualized self-assessments, as well as career and major exploration.
Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities fosters student growth by promoting students’ awareness and understanding of their rights and responsibilities as community members, addressing student conduct and creating developmental learning opportunities, and engaging students in ethical decision-making.
Office of Student Transitions provides a seamless transition from orientation through post-graduation by creating an environment that contributes to the success of all students.
Parking and Transportation provides guidance and assistance to the campus community, visitors, and guests on all parking-related issues and promotes compliance with the University’s parking regulations through education in a general understanding of its parking system.
Pirate CAVE Math Lab is a requirement for students taking Math 1065.
Pirate Tutoring Center provides free tutoring services, academic skills workshops, study skills coaching, and academic support to enhance student success.
Registrar’s Office provides information on transcript requests, Commencement, and other issues pertaining to student records.
Student Health Services is a primary health care facility located conveniently on central campus, with a staff of dedicated professionals providing easily accessible and affordable health care to enrolled students.
Student Legal Services (SLS) was established by the Student Government Association at East Carolina University as a service for students. SLS is registered with the North Carolina State Bar as a pre-paid legal services plan. It is funded through student fees and services are available for fee-paying students.
Student Transit Authority offers a wide variety of travel options on a comprehensive system which provides more than 2.5 million rides each year with service both on and off campus.
Student Veteran Services helps connect Service-members/Veterans and their families to the appropriate services on campus.
Testing Center administers national college and academic program entrance exams. Credentialing, licensure and certification exams are administered through the ECU Testing Center.
Undergraduate Admissions provides competent, courteous, respectful, and efficient professional service to prospective students and their families as they navigate the inquiry, application, decision, and enrollment process at East Carolina University.
University Writing Center is open and available to students, faculty, and staff to work with trained undergraduate and graduate writing consultants on writing at any stage of the writing process.
The Volunteer and Service-Learning Center (VSLC) seeks to foster an environment where individuals learn about themselves and their community, take action through service, and advocate for lasting social change.
